ABOUT US - Faculty

 

Westwood Charter School has 31 classrooms and 35 credentialed teachers.
Each classroom has 1 full-time teacher and 1 part-time teacher’s assistant.

Specialists at Westwood include: school nurse, psychologist, occupational therapist, adaptive P.E. instructor, physical education instructor, art teacher, dance teacher, resource and inclusion specialist, upper grade science specialist, speech and language specialist, G.A.T.E. coordinator, music teacher, orchestra teacher, dance teacher, curriculum coordinator and a bridge coordinator.

 Utvich, Judy
(Principal)
Judy Utvich graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s degree in Music.  She received her California teaching credential and Master of Arts in Educational Administration from California State University-Northridge. She has been in education with the Los Angeles Unified School District for 21 years, serving as a teacher, coach, and administrator. She has been at Westwood Charter since 2005.

 

 Miceli, Jeannie
(Assistant Principal)
Jeanne Miceli graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She went on to receive a Master's degree in Educational Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from California State University-Northridge. She has been in education for more than twenty years, and at Westwood Charter since 1996

 

 Sheard, Nicole
(Assistant Principal)
Nicole Sheard received her Bachelor's Degree from Loyola Marymount University. After teaching elementary school for ten years, she obtained her Master of Arts in Educational Administration from National University. Although she just joined the staff at Westwood Charter, she has been an Assistant Principal with LAUSD since 2006.

 

 Lainer, Leslie
(Curriculum Coordinator)
Leslie Lainer received her Master's degree from Tufts University and her Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan. She has been teaching over fifteen years.  She began teaching at Westwood Charter in 1995 and has been the Curriculum Coordinator since 2004.
