WESTWOOD CHARTER Mini-Players is an Award-Winning after school creative drama and musical theatre ensemble developed exclusively for Westwood Charter Elementary School by On Stage, Everyone! a division of Children’s Civic Light Opera (CCLO).
Through participation in a variety of creative drama and musical theatre explorations, students in grades K, 1 and 2 have an opportunity to build and develop performance and design skills, enjoy personal and artistic growth and development, and work as a creative, collaborative community. Activities include, but are not limited to:
- Singing/Vocals (with live piano accompaniment)
- Dance/Movement
- Acting/Character development
- Story building
- Introductory Improvisation
- Basic Set, Prop and Costume Design
- Theatrical vocabulary
- Performance techniques
- Theatre etiquette
- Reflective questioning
- Connecting theatre to academic and personal experience
Sessions culminate with a thematic Showcase performance that includes published Broadway material as well as original works developed by cast members and Staff.
