School Lunches: Show Compassion (by Charlie N.)

Do any of your friends buy lunch from the cafeteria? If your friends do, don’t tease them because there lunch looks different from yours. People have been complaining to Room Representatives because they don’t like the school lunch. In Student Council, we’ve noticed that sometimes kids buy lunch, and then throw it away because they think it looks bad. If you actually try the food, it may taste pretty good. Do you know how much pressure is on the guy who prepares the food? If everybody is saying that the food is horrible, he will feel horrible, and the people who eat the food will feel bad, too. Please show compassion for others and try the food, and show respect for others who have a lunch that is different from yours. Not everybody can make a lunch from home. So show compassion for people who have school lunches and have school spirit!
