Westwood Charter Presents:
An Affair to Remember
Annual Auction 2012
The Annual Online Auction is coming soon and we need your help now! It’s time to work to make this year’s auction “An Affair to Remember.”
It is important for the success of our online and live auctions to contact every business you know for contributions. Additionally, consider hosting a party—it is a great way to get people together and have fun while raising money for the school.
The live auction party will be on Saturday February 25, 2012 at the Beverly Hills Country Club. It will kick off the online auction party which begins after the party is over, and ends on March 10 at 10pm. The online auction will be hosted at www.biddingforgood.com/westwoodcharter. It is available to all friends and family of Westwood Charter so help us get the word out and invite your friends to find fabulous deals and help our school in the process.
We ask every family to contribute one item to the auction by asking businesses with which you do business to support our school. Keep extra copies of the auction letter and donor form in your car and every time you go to a restaurant, nail salon, or fitness facility, ask them to donate a gift certificate. Whenever you take your child to a music lesson, tutoring session, dance class or karate instruction, ask them to support our school the way you support their business. Plus, it is an inexpensive way to give the business exposure to over 700 families and the community at large.

What the business get in return for a donation:
- Individual listing on our biddingforgood.com website with a photo, detailed description and link to their website.
- Exposure to over 1400 decision makers and their personal contacts.
- Positive publicity for being a supporter of public education and local schools.
Consider hosting a party! You choose a theme (adult or kids), the date, location, and maximum attendees. We will take care of selling the seats to your party. Host-a-party generates thousands of dollars for the school. Help us to continue making it a huge success by hosting a party. This year, the auction committee is requesting that one or more individuals (or groups of individuals) from each class have a party. Remember, these parties do not need to be expensive.

Please remember why we are doing this. Westwood Charter is an extraordinary neighborhood school that stresses community, public service and ethics. The school and its exceptional teachers and staff strive to prepare its students, our children, to be good citizens and future leaders. That commitment to excellence has consistently resulted in Westwood Charter being recognized by the state as a California Distinguished School. Please help us celebrate and support our children’s elementary school experience. Many of the wonderful programs at our school are not paid for by the State of California or by LAUSD. Instead, the Physical Education, Music, and Art Programs, as well as the teacher assistants in every classroom, the literacy and math specialists, and many other programs will be paid for with the proceeds of this Auction.
If we are not successful, we put these programs at risk. Please help us.
We are increasingly dependent on the generous support of you, our local businesses, and our community friends who share the goal of keeping Westwood Charter a vital part of the community, and its students a thriving part of our community’s future.
Thank you.
